Head Football Coach – West Carroll High School
Coach Jay Taylor joined West Carroll High School as Head Football Coach with nearly two decades of experience developing high-performing teams and student-athletes. A graduate of McKenzie High School and the University of Tennessee at Martin, Taylor is known for his strategic mind, consistent success on the field, and ability to mentor players both athletically and personally.
Prior to joining West Carroll, Coach Taylor served for 10 years as the offensive coordinator at Peabody High School in Trenton, Tennessee. Under his leadership, the team achieved a 44-game winning streak and earned three straight state championships from 2018 to 2020. He has coached multiple Mr. Football winners and played a key role in 11 seasons with 10 or more wins and seven region titles.
Coach Taylor’s coaching philosophy emphasizes accountability, preparation, and growth—values that extend beyond the game. He is committed to building a program where student-athletes are challenged to succeed on the field, in the classroom, and in life.
