West Carroll Elementary School continues to highlight student excellence through its SOAR Awards program, which recognizes students who embody the school’s core values of Safety, Ownership, Achievement, and Respect. The initiative celebrates those who demonstrate academic effort, positive character, and meaningful contributions to the school community.
Eva Gibson, a sixth grader, received the SOAR Award for earning the most positive Dojo points in Week 5. Her teacher, Mrs. Marcia Miller, said, “Eva is an outstanding example of a model student. Demonstrating a strong work ethic and kindness to others, she is a positive role model for her peers.”
Faith Pitts, a fourth-grade student, earned the most Dojo points in the school for Week 6, which led to her receiving the SOAR Award as well. Her teacher, Mrs. Nikki Andrews-Gilley, shared, “Faith comes to school every day with an ‘I can’ attitude. She tries her best, asks questions for clarification, and makes corrections when needed on her classwork. She follows all school rules and procedures, uses good manners, and is extremely well-behaved. Faith gladly offers her help to both students and teachers. She is a joy to have in class.”
Beckett Dunn, a fourth grader at WCES, was nominated by his teacher, Ms. Madison McClure, for both Weeks 5 and 6. She stated, “Beckett is always respectful to both his teachers and classmates. He immediately does what he is asked without complaint, is kind and helpful, responsible, and a student I can depend on. I have never seen him be anything less than an exemplary student and a role model for others.”
West Carroll Elementary is proud of these students for their dedication to excellence and for exemplifying the values that make the school community thrive.
