New month, new momentum. The October 3-2-1 Update is live — check out what’s happening across WCSSD.
📚 Sixty-four WCES students just hit their first reading milestone! As part of First Frontiers – A Journey in History, students were challenged to read 25 books or earn 25 AR points by October 3. Their reward? A celebration tied to their library studies on Tennessee’s early Indigenous peoples, complete with themed treats and recognition.

Next stop: 50 books or points by December 12. We’re proud of these readers and the staff supporting them every step of the way. #WCSSDReads #SmallSchoolBigOpportunities

Celebrating Our Custodians!

Students, staff, and the central office came together to show heartfelt appreciation for our dedicated school custodians in celebration of National Custodian Day. The day was filled with warm gestures — from colorful banners and thoughtful cards to hugs, high fives, and cheerful greetings of “Happy Custodian Day!”

These everyday heroes keep our schools clean, safe, and welcoming, and today was a reminder of just how much they are valued by the entire Atwood school community. Thank you, custodians, for all you do!

🏈🎉 Homecoming Week at West Carroll! 🎉🏈

Last week was packed with school spirit, friendly competition, and War Eagle pride! Students showed off their creativity and competitiveness with door decorating, Eagle Olympics, volleyball tournaments, lip sync battles, and we capped it all off with a high-energy pep rally on Friday.

After a close race, the senior class took the win as overall Homecoming Week champions! 🏆

Friday night brought tailgating, community spirit, and the crowning of our 2025 Homecoming Queen, Kalee Coleman 👑. She was joined by her court: Diamond Foulks (Freshman), Ava Pinson (Sophomore), Taytum Jenkins (Junior), and Seniors Kahli Baum and Brilye Mueller.

From dress-up days to the crowning of the queen, Homecoming 2025 was a celebration of pride, tradition, and everything that makes West Carroll special. 🦅💙
